DUO is situated in the vibrant Bugis district, known for its rich arts, heritage, and cultural scene. Home to over 20 historical sites and national monuments, the area hosts events like the Bugis Arts Flea Market and Singapore Night Festival, and sits near landmarks such as the Singapore Art Museum, LASALLE College of the Arts, and the Waterloo Street Arts Belt.
Designed by Ole Scheeren, DUO’s modern architecture blends harmoniously with its surroundings, reflecting a spirit of inclusiveness and community. The development brings the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s vision for a lively mixed-use cluster in the Ophir-Rochor corridor to life, complementing the business hubs of Marina Bay and Raffles Place.
The corridor links Bugis’ cultural vibrancy with Kampong Glam’s historic charm, where colourful shophouses and contemporary boutiques, galleries, and eateries coexist. DUO’s courtyards and plazas serve as lively, pedestrian-friendly spaces, reviving the district’s tradition of communal gathering while celebrating its eclectic and dynamic heritage.

Iconically designed by Büro Ole Scheeren, DUO Twin Towers received the CTBUH 2021 Urban Habitat Award for its socially and environmentally responsible design. Comprising a residential tower and a hotel-office tower, DUO creates a coherent urban framework with permeable spaces that merge greenery and social activity. Elevated public spaces, communal terraces, and a rooftop viewing deck complement a 100% landscape offset and a concave form that channels wind to foster a cool microclimate.
Scheeren’s vision was to create an urban habitat where humans, architecture, and nature coexist responsibly, repairing a missing piece of the city while celebrating public life. Since its completion in 2018, DUO has become a dynamic landmark that promotes social interaction and exemplary sustainability.
